Their cash business covers the overhead, cost of goods, sales, personnel, etc. Barter dollars fund the vacation they could not afford for the fur coat they’ve always wanted. On trade, they send flowers on a whim, go out to eat more often or enjoy a show or concert. CBE members purchase more upscale goods and services. Since they’re trading instead of spending cash, they frequently upgrade to the nicer hotel room, the best cruise ship cabin or the best bottle of wine.
